ABOUT:  CHAPBOOKS

  • Chapbooks are short, inexpensive, easy to produce booklets -- often illustrated -- containing poems, ballads, stories, humors, opinions, recipes, guides, instructions and galleries ... all describing key matters of the day, such as relationships, family, pets, travel, hobbies, the arts, politics, business, education, wellness, religion, holidays, events, etc. Published since the 1500s, chapbooks are timeless books of jest and tales and passion and secrets and memories and legacy that spring out of everyday folklore ... an important dissemination of information to the common people, providing an inspiring medium of entertainment, history and speculation. They are valued as a simple yet precious, paper-bound, stapled or stitched present-day record of popular culture, preserving words and pictures from authors and illustrators that may not survive in any other form.

ABOUT:  TARGETING AUTHORS AND ILLUSTRATORS

  • We publish words & pictures that most consumers probably wouldn't buy, not a single copy ... but probably would enjoy reading a single copy for free.

  • We primarily support introverted writers, illustrators and readers! We encourage introverts to "socialize" their creative passions through SPP Chapbooks:

Introverts are drained by social encounters and energized by solitary, often creative pursuits. Their disposition is frequently misconstrued as shyness, social phobia or even avoidant personality disorder, but many introverts socialize easily; they just strongly prefer not to. In fact, the self-styled introvert can be more empathic and interpersonally connected than his or her outgoing counterparts!

  • We also support extroverted folks, especially their un-published or under-published "creative pursuits" in need of SPP Chapbook tender loving care:

Extroverts make up about three-quarters of the American population, and as such come in all stripes. They zip through the world in search of novel experiences, social connections, and leadership opportunities. Extroversion is a core factor of personality and is difficult to modify. But generally speaking, the only people bothered by extroverts' volubility and drive are the introverted members of their circle!

Everyone has a STONY POINT.
That tiny bit of real estate that provides both risky and secure footing.
A secret, special place where you cast your pursuit of legacy against the current of experience and opportunity.
Like balancing along shoreline stones at the river's shallowest point.
Look upstream.  Look downstream.
But most important ... LOOK!
